He's been a huge success (especially with the ladies) and will hopefully be the unchanging face of our society for years to come while our committees come and go. International Ball Tickets On Sale Now!
Published Thursday 17.03.2011
Tickets for the International Ball on the 28th of April at the Hilton are now on sale for £25. That includes shuttle buses to the Hilton and back from Hillhead or King's College, a red carpet reception with a welcome drink, traditional Scottish 3-course meal including wine, evening entertainment in the form of a piper and our favourite Ceilidh band Dance McCabre followed by a regular disco. We will also offer a discount with one of Aberdeen's kilt and tuxedo hire companies so you can dress up for the occasion and there will be a professional photographer to take pictures.
Places are limited so I recommend booking a table as early as possible. The event is in cooperation with the international exchange and erasmus offices so all friends and family are very welcome, guests don't need to be members of the society.
We are taking table reservations now so if you and your friends would like to sit together send us a quick email to info@intersoc.co.uk and we'll make sure that happens. We have tables of 8 and 10 people available. If you're less than that don't worry we will just match you up with other smaller groups.

We've finalised the itinerary for our 5-day Easter trip around Scotland (28th March to 1st April). I'm also pleased to announce that both Intersoc and the Climate Change Project will be subsidising the ticket price so we can offer you a 5 day trip, including all transport, accommodation with breakfast, and activities for just £189. There are now only 8 tickets left so if you havn't already reserved one please email us as soon as possible at info@intersoc.co.uk
Day 1:
On our first day we will travel North to the West coast harbour city of Ullapool. On the way we will see Scotland's famous wild dolphins north of Inverness and taste some fantastic local beers at the Black Isle organic ale brewery, before continuing through the remote highlands to Ullapool where we will spend the evening at a traditional pub with live music.
Day 2:
Today we will travel South to Loch Ness for a unique opportunity to go canoeing on the loch and hunt for the world's most famous monster! After that we will spend some time at the Loch Ness exhibition centre for some detailed information and adventurous stories about the loch and its infamous inhabitant. We'll spend the night in Fort William.
Day 3:
After all the driving of the last two days we will get a chance to stretch our legs with an amazing hike in Glencoe, often considered one of the most spectacular and beautiful places in Scotland. In the evening we will travel further South to the banks of Loch Lomond where we will spend the night.
Day 4:
Loch Lomond is the largest lake in Great Britain by surface area and has a number of large islands. We will take a boat cruise across the loch and see an ancient castle. In the afternoon we will drive to Pitlochry, a Victorian era tourist resort, where we will spend the night.
Day 5:
On our final day we will stop for a guided tour of the Blair Athol Distillery and the beautiful Blair Castle before driving back to Aberdeen.
There will also be a number of activities for the evenings, such as a whisky tasting and a murder mystery group game.

Isle of Skye Trip Ticket Sale
Published Tuesday 19.04.2011
Our weekend trip to the Isle of Skye will be on Saturday 30th of April and Sunday 1st of May. We will be visiting arguably the most spectacular landscapes in Scotland including short hikes to the island's famous coral beaches and the iconic Old Man of Storr. We'll also take a guided tour around Eilean Donan Castle and spend the night in the picturesque fishing village of Portree.
Tickets go on sale on Monday at 10am in Butchart for £50. This is one of our most popular trips and we have had a lot of people asking about it via email so please be at the ticket sale early if you want to be sure to get a ticket. We are unfortunately limited to a single bus because of the hostel capacity in Portree, but we're doing our best to accommodate as many as possible.
